Heparinoid is a substance similar to heparin. It acts by dissolving blood clots and improving the blood circulation to the skin and with that improving nutrition and oxygen supply enhancing the natural repair and healing process.

In the case of haemorrhoids, it can also be used in conjunction with local anaesthatic preparations like Lanacaine cream or Anusol cream. These have a soothing effect, whilst the Hirudoid enhances the natural healing effect.
